Abstract

This study aims to analyze questions on the Indonesian national exam and review literacy policies in Indonesia. This research was conducted by analyzing the content of the questions, the variety of texts used, and the integration of literacy skills in Indonesian questions with literacy policies. Indonesian language exam questions have an important role in developing the ability to understand, analyze, inform, and interpret texts on literacy policies in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a documentary analysis of Indonesian language exam questions from the 2013 curriculum to the independence curriculum. The results of the study show that literacy policies in Indonesia can be reflected in questions on the Indonesian national exam. The literacy developed in the 2013 curriculum questions includes reading and writing literacy, numeracy literacy, and cultural literacy. The main focus is literacy in reading and writing. Furthermore, in 2020, the national exam will be abolished so that the questions focus on independent literacy by students through school exams. From 2021 until now, literacy has been the main focus to be developed. This is done by combining several subjects in the form of text literacy. Through the existing questions, students are expected to develop better critical and analytical thinking skills. As well as encouraging better student literacy.
