Online Learning and Cognitive Sensory of Students in Learning Ulumul Hadist Based on Whatsapp Group

Whatsapp is a learning platform that is being echoed by education at any level, especially universities. WAG media in educational activities are mostly used as the main platform, however, there are based on the students’s expectations. This article aims to examine Biology students' reception of the WAG learning platform in the Ulumul Hadist course at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta regarding Learning Styles and Learning Systems, and Sensory Cognitive (motivation, comprehension competence, memory and implementation). The results of this research reveal, 1) the learning and communication styles of biology students are different, but with the WAG learning system which has been changed between lecturers and students can accommodate all student needs; 2) Related to sensory cognitive analysis, (a) students' perceptions about capturing knowledge and understanding learning using WAG was found as many as 84.9% of students stated that WAG as an online learning platform was able to increase motivation to learn ulumul hadith, as many as 95.7% stated that WAG increased understanding, (b) in terms of Memory and Reflection (remembering lesson material and implementing it) as many as 85.7% stated that WAG improved material retention, as many as 95.7% stated that learning through WAG was able to reflect lecture material in everyday life. From the data above, it can be assumed that WAG is a social media that has complete features and is most often used to communicate and convey messages, making WAG a platform that is easy to use as a medium for discussion and dissemination of academic information in the university environment. In addition, learning activities based on the comprehensive use of WAG platform technology will guide students' understanding of learning.
