https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1779

Madrasah education in Indonesia holds strategic potential to nurture a generation that is firmly grounded in faith while also equipped to face global challenges. However, the enduring dualism between religious knowledge and science continues to hinder the holistic development of learners. This conceptual literature study aims to analyze the theoretical frameworks, pedagogical models, and contemporary practices of integrating faith-based values with scientific literacy in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Grounded in transformative education theory and the epistemology of the unity of knowledge, this research synthesizes academic discourse from journals published between 2019 and 2024 and analyzes it in relation to KMA No. 184 of 2019 and KMA No. 374 of 2022. The analysis identifies two central themes: (1) epistemological reconstruction to bridge revelation and scientific inquiry; and (2) integrative curriculum design. This study addresses the gap by critically examining the conceptual foundations and policy directions for integrating faith and science in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Using a qualitative library research design, this study employs a twofold analytical approach. First, it conducts a conceptual analysis of the theory of interconnected knowledge (tauhid) and transformative education. Second, it performs a critical policy analysis of the national madrasah curriculum (KMA 183 and KMA 347) and related pedagogical documents to evaluate their alignment with these conceptual aspirations. The findings propose a robust conceptual framework for integration based on three pillars: (1) a thematic-curricular pillar that operationalizes the relationship between Qur’anic verses (ayat al-qur’aniyyah) and natural phenomena (ayat al-kauniyyah) within instructional design; (2) a pedagogy-competency pillar outlining principles for developing teacher capacity in integrative teaching; and (3) an action-oriented praxis pillar that connects integrated learning to social justice and environmental stewardship. This study concludes that madrasahs possess a unique epistemological advantage for holistic education. To realize this potential, curriculum policy must be strengthened with explicit, practical models that translate the vision of faith-science integration into actionable guidance for teachers. This research contributes a conceptual framework and policy recommendations to advance madrasah education toward its mission of nurturing Indonesia’s young generation.
Fina WardaniSiti Khodijah Nurul Aula

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1780

Arabic language learning has a strategic position in Islamic studies because it is the main means of understanding the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic scientific heritage. However, the degradation of academic ethics shows a separation between knowledge and morality, so that a learning paradigm that unites cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects is needed. This study aims to develop a conceptual model of the integration of faith values in Arabic language language learning to strengthen academic ethics and social sustainability. The method used is a conceptual approach (conceptual research) through a literature review of Islamic education theory, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The results of this study are [1] Empowerment of Islamic studies through Arabic language education, [2] Integration of the OBE approach to ensure learning outcomes that include linguistic, spiritual, and social competencies, [3] Synchronization of OBE and SDG-4 to realize quality, character-based, and globally oriented Islamic education, [4] Implications for global peace and humanity through the development of moral awareness, empathy, and religious moderation. This research contributes to the development of an Arabic language curriculum model based on faith values that is relevant to the demands of the 21st century, supports the creation of civilized, sustainable Islamic education, and contributes to world peace.
Sovia Fahraini

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1783

Education in Indonesia still faces dominant challenges in the form of cognitive orientation that emphasizes academic achievement alone, while aspects of character, emotional health, and 21st century skills have not developed optimally. This condition demands a revitalization of education through a more holistic approach. This research aims to analyze the urgency of integrating deep learning and love curriculum in education, identify the contribution of each approach, and formulate an integrative model that can support the realization of a healthy, smart, and characterful generation. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, conducted through a systematic search of academic literature, books, and education policy reports from the last ten years. The results show that deep learning contributes significantly to improving critical, reflective thinking and 21st century skills, while the love curriculum plays an important role in building learners' character, empathy and emotional health. Further analysis shows that the integration of the two can lead to a holistic education model that balances cognitive and affective development and creates a meaningful, reflective and caring learning climate.
Ahmad Suryadi

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1710

This study aims to explore the integration of faith and knowledge through local wisdom-based character education in elementary schools. In the era of globalization and digital transformation, the moral and spiritual foundations of students are increasingly challenged by individualistic and materialistic values. Local wisdom, as an indigenous source of ethical and moral guidance, provides contextual approaches to strengthening faith and knowledge integration within educational practices. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, involving teachers, students, and community leaders as informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that local wisdom practices, such as community cooperation (gotong royong), environmental care, and religious rituals, significantly contribute to developing students’ spiritual and intellectual balance. The integration of faith and knowledge is realized through contextual learning models that link religious values with scientific understanding and local culture. This approach promotes not only cognitive development but also moral, emotional, and social maturity among students. The study concludes that local wisdom can effectively serve as a pedagogical bridge that harmonizes religious faith and scientific knowledge in character education.
Wikan SasmitaRevalina Yulia IndartiNursalim NursalimEtty AndyastutiAgus WidodoSuratman SuratmanFitta Nurisma Riswandi

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1787

The environmental crisis currently affecting the globe is not merely a technical and ecological problem, but also affects
the spiritual and moral dimensions of humanity universally. This research elaborates on the interrelation between humans, God,
and nature in the agricultural world based on insights from the concept of agriculture in the Qur'an, using thematic interpretation
analysis. These insights emerge from the degradation of farmers' (anthropogenic) activities that are environmentally unfriendly,
exploitative-egocentric, and the loss of spirituality with God in agriculture. The novelty of this research lies in the concept of agro
ecotheology, which focuses on how to internalize the role and relationship between humans, God, and agriculture to achieve
balance in the universe. This study explores the concept of land mapping (mapping of the ground) in Surah Al-A'raf [7]: 58 as a
research object with a thematic interpretation approach. The concept represents the relationship between three significant and
interrelated entities: God, humans, and nature, in preserving the agricultural ecology from destruction. From this understanding,
the concept of "Agro-ecotheology" is introduced as a solution to environmental degradation issues in agriculture within a theological
framework aimed at achieving sustainable agricultural development. This research is a qualitative library research study using
the maudhû’i interpretation method. This method is used to explore the concept of agriculture in the Qur'an through thematic
interpretation with an Eco farming sustainable theory approach. The combination of agricultural concepts with sustainable eco
farming based on the Qur'an is a combination of the relationship between: God, humans, and nature. In the Qur'an, all are subjects
of God's creatures who have the same rights and obligations, so nature is not an object but a facility given by God. A misguided
understanding of religion considers that protecting the agricultural environment is not a form of worship, so it is neglected and
does not even have a place in religion. This causes humans to be indifferent because it is not a command from God and is not part
of their beliefs. Therefore, an ecological concept of agriculture through sustainable eco-farming based on the Qur'an is needed to
maintain stability and relevance between nature, plants, and humans.
Sopiyan IqbalMuh. https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1788

This article offers a re-reading of QS. An-Nahl 125 through a thematic content analysis of Buya Hamka's Al-Azhar
Exegesis, focusing on its relevance for shaping da’wah ethics in Indonesia’s multicultural society. Employing a qualitative
research design with a textual study approach, this research deeply examines Hamka’s interpretation of three fundamental
da'wah principles—al-hikmah, al-mau’izhah al-hasanah, and al-mujadalah billati hiya ahsan —along with their implications for
developing an inclusive da'wah model in Indonesia. The findings demonstrate that Hamka’s humanist-contextual
interpretation provides a relevant ethical framework for da’wah that addresses the complexities of a plural society,
emphasizing the importance of an adaptive approach, empathetic communication, and constructive dialogue. Thus, this article
concludes that Buya Hamka’s Al-Azhar Exegesis not only offers a strong theological foundation but also presents a solution
oriented perspective for strengthening transformative da’wah capable of responding to the challenges of multicultural society
in Indonesia.
Rahmat Ardi Nur Rifa Da’iDyah Elisa RosantiRyan Arief RahmanHanifan Imam Mujtahidan

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1791

Al-Farabi, as one of the greatest medieval Islamic philosophers, conceptualized an ideal state (Al-Madinah Al
Fadilah) based on justice, wisdom, and the leadership of a virtuous ruler. This study examines the relevance of Al-Farabi’s
political thought in addressing contemporary challenges within Indonesia’s democratic system. By employing a qualitative
approach with a literature review method, this research analyzes the philosophical foundations of Al-Farabi’s ideal state and
their applicability in the context of Indonesian governance. The findings indicate that Al-Farabi’s emphasis on the philosopher
king, ethical leadership, and social harmony aligns with the need for moral integrity and competency in Indonesia’s political
landscape. However, Indonesia’s democratic structure, which differs from Al-Farabi’s hierarchical model, presents challenges
in implementing his ideas directly. Nonetheless, the principles of justice, ethical governance, and education as the basis for
leadership development remain highly relevant in strengthening democracy and addressing political corruption in Indonesia.
This study contributes to the discourse on integrating classical Islamic political philosophy with modern democratic practices,
offering an alternative perspective on governance reform. Future research should explore practical mechanisms for adapting
Al-Farabi’s philosophical insights to contemporary democratic governance.
Mohammad LatiefEra Fazira Siregar

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1796

In the accelerating age of digital transformation, innovation has often been pursued as a purely technical or economic
endeavor—detached from its moral and spiritual foundations. This paper proposes a theology of innovation as a faith-based
paradigm to rehumanize educational progress and institutional leadership. Drawing upon Qur’anic ethics, particularly the
principle of khair al-ummah (the best community that enjoins good and prevents harm), this conceptual study reinterprets
innovation as a divine mandate rooted in amanah (trust) and ‘ilm (knowledge). The research employs a qualitative conceptual
approach with content analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship, including Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir Al
Mishbah, to construct an integrative framework that bridges theology, ethics, and future-oriented educational management.
The findings indicate that when innovation is guided by tawhidic values, it becomes not merely a tool of advancement but a
process of moral cultivation and communal responsibility. This paper argues that reintroducing theological consciousness into
educational leadership and policy can humanize institutions, enhance ethical governance, and restore the spiritual purpose of
education. The study concludes with implications for reconstructing curricula and management practices in Islamic
educational institutions toward spiritually sustainable development.
Sherli Ananda Calista

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1684

The phenomenon of pop-up cafes represents a form of business innovation that has become increasingly popular among young entrepreneurs, offering a temporary concept with aesthetic appeal and unique consumer experiences. Creativity in spatial design and innovation in digital marketing strategies are essential elements that strengthen the competitiveness of this business. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, all forms of creativity and innovation must be evaluated to ensure alignment with the principles of justice (‘adl), honesty (amanah), and avoidance of gharar (excessive uncertainty) that may cause harm. This study aims to analyze the creativity and innovation of pop-up cafe businesses from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. The research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method, reviewing literature including the Qur’an, Hadith, classical fiqh books on muamalah, and contemporary literature on Islamic business ethics, creativity, and entrepreneurship innovation. The results indicate that creativity in pop-up cafe businesses includes aspects of spatial design, product concepts, and consumer experiences, while innovation encompasses service development, digital marketing strategies, and flexible operational models. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, all these aspects comply with the principles of justice (‘adl), honesty (amanah), and prohibition of gharar, provided they do not involve fraud, waste, or consumer exploitation. Thus, creativity and innovation oriented toward maslahah (public benefit) can serve as the foundation for developing pop-up cafe businesses that are just, sustainable, and prosperous (falah).
Nuryani NuryaniNoremilia Noremilia

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1630

Paper opacity is one of the crucial optical factors that determines visual quality in printed products, particularly in the packaging industry. This study aims to analyze the role of paper opacity in maintaining information readability, graphic design clarity, and supporting the concept of environmentally friendly packaging. The research employed a mixed-method approach combining quantitative experiments and qualitative studies. In the experimental stage, three types of eco-friendly paper with grammages of 80 g/m², 100 g/m², and 120 g/m² were tested for their opacity levels using an Opacity Tester based on ISO 2471 standards. Furthermore, print test results of colors and texts were evaluated by a panel of graphic designers and consumers through perception surveys. The findings reveal that higher grammage paper demonstrated better opacity, but increasing grammage does not always align with the efficiency of eco-friendly material usage. The 100 g/m² paper provided the most optimal results, with an average opacity of 92%, text readability of 94%, and a satisfaction rate of 91% among panelists. From a sustainability perspective, this paper also proved more efficient compared to 120 g/m², as it reduces raw material consumption. Consumer perceptions indicated that packaging with higher opacity was considered more professional, easier to read, and reinforced the image of sustainable products. The study concludes that paper opacity plays a significant role in the design of eco-friendly printed packaging. Selecting paper with optimal opacity not only enhances visual quality and readability but also supports material efficiency and reduces environmental impact. These findings may serve as a reference for graphic designers, printing producers, and packaging industry stakeholders in determining material standards that balance print quality and environmental sustainability.
Juwairiah Juwairiah

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1797

Religion and social aspects are two fundamental dimensions that shape the structure of human life. In the context of
sharia economic law, the relationship between the two cannot be separated because the Islamic economic system is built on
the foundation of religious values and principles of social justice. This article aims to examine the relationship between
religious and social aspects in the application of sharia economic law, as well as its implications for the development of a just
and prosperous society. The method used is a descriptive-analytical approach by examining basic sharia concepts, maqashid
al-syariah, and the socio-economic practices of Muslims. The study results show that sharia economic law not only regulates
transactional aspects but also contains spiritual and social values that encourage the creation of balance between individual
and societal interests.
Fajariah Fajariah

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1633

This study aims to analyze the relevance of maqasid al-shariah in reconstructing Islamic Education (PAI) and to explain its contribution to developing an education model oriented toward sustainability and social justice. Using a normative-philosophical qualitative approach through the study of classical and contemporary maqasid texts, PAI curriculum documents, MUI fatwas on environmental issues, as well as academic literature and national education policies, this research employs content analysis, thematic analysis, and hermeneutics. The findings indicate that applying the principles of hifz al-din, al-nafs, al-‘aql, al-mal, al-nasl, al-bi’ah, and al-‘ird within the curriculum can shape students to be religious, well-charactered, environmentally conscious, and socially just. The implementation of a maqasid-based curriculum can be realized through social-ecological project-based learning, cross-sector collaboration, and strengthening the role of educational institutions such as green pesantren and eco-mosques. This study asserts that the maqasid approach provides both theoretical and practical foundations for reforming Islamic Education toward a model that is responsive to global challenges, thereby fostering a competitive generation committed to sustainability and social justice.
Ficky Uwais Alqarny

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1798

Legal pluralism in Indonesia reflects the richness of normative systems that coexist between state law, Islamic law, and customary law. In the context of family dispute resolution, especially those related to marriage, inheritance, and divorce, overlapping jurisdictions and fundamental normative differences often give rise to complex legal issues. This article aims to analyse and propose a model for harmonising customary law and Islamic law in the resolution of family disputes in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with juridical-normative and socio-legal methods, through analysis of legislation, religious court decisions, and community-based dispute resolution practices. The results of the research show that Islamic law and customary law actually have strong common ground in the principles of justice, benefit, deliberation, and social balance. However, tensions arise when local customary values clash with universal Islamic norms. In practice, many communities still prioritise customary-based resolution before bringing cases to religious courts, indicating a social preference for mechanisms that are considered more restorative and rooted in local wisdom. The harmonisation strategies offered include an integrative approach based on maqaid al-syari'ah, recognition of customary law that does not conflict with sharia principles, and strengthening the role of customary-religious mediators as a bridge between the two legal systems. The harmonisation of customary law and Islamic law is not intended to eliminate differences, but to optimise the role of both in creating substantive justice for Indonesian Muslim families. Thus, legal pluralism can become an integrative potential in strengthening a family dispute resolution system that is fair, contextual, and rooted in a diverse national legal identity.
Abdul Rahman Ramadhan

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1751

This study explores the influence of religious lectures in Arabic on changes in Sundanese language styles in religious communication among the Alpha Generation. As the use of Arabic in lectures becomes more widespread, especially among santri, there appears to be a shift in the way the Alpha Generation speaks in religious contexts. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of Arabic religious lectures on the use of Sundanese language styles and how this affects religious communication among the younger generation. This research uses a sociolinguistic approach with a qualitative method, which involves observation, indepth interviews and analysis of the lecture texts. The results show that Arabic religious lectures encourage the use of Arabic words in daily conversation, code-switching between Sundanese and Arabic, as well as changes in language style that are more formal and religious. These changes occur as a form of Generation Alpha's adaptation to the needs of religious communication, where Arabic is seen as a strong religious symbol. This research contributes to sociolinguistic studies by highlighting the interaction between language and religious identity in the context of the Alpha Generation, and provides insight into the dynamics of language change in religious environments.
Lutvi Ali Sahana AnggianSiti Julaeha

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1613

The phenomenon of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) in Indonesia has become an increasingly prominent social and legal issue, driven by advances in technology and greater freedom of expression in the public spaces. Although parts of the global community are increasingly accepting of non-heterosexual orientations, most people in Indonesia still reject them, seeing them as incompatible with religious and cultural norms. This study aims to analyze the LGBT phenomenon from three main perspectives; human rights, Islamic law, and Indonesia’s positive law, in order to find common ground between individual freedom and the moral boundaries upheld by religion and the state. This study employs a normative legal method with a conceptual approach, drawing on literature reviews, statutory regulations, and Islamic legal doctrine, particularly the principles of maqasid al-syari‘ah. The findings indicate that, under Islamic law, LGBT behavior falls under the category of al-fawahish (indecent acts), which contradicts human fitrah (natural disposition) and may be subject to hadd or ta’zir penalties. Under Indonesia’s positive law, sexual orientation is not directly criminalized, but same-sex indecent acts may still be subject to criminal penalties under the Indonesian Criminal Law. From a human rights perspective, individual freedom is recognized but remains limited by moral values, religion, and public order, as stipulated in Article 28J of the 1945 Indonesian Constitution. Therefore, the response to the LGBT phenomenon must be comprehensive and humane, balancing the protection of individual rights with the enforcement of moral norms through legal, educational, and guidance approaches grounded in religious and humanitarian values.
Nurun Najwa Qurrata'aynaMuhammad Taha Madani

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1800

This article discusses the Qur'anic approach to interfaith dialogue in a pluralistic society. The Qur'an as the main source of Islamic teachings provides a foundation for Muslims to interact peacefully and harmoniously with other religious communities, emphasizing the principles of justice, religious freedom, and tolerance. In this study, the author uses a thematic interpretation approach, this paper examines how the verses of the Qur'an can be an ethical foundation in building constructive and respectful relationships between communities of different religions. Amid modern challenges, such as ideological conflicts and religious stereotypes, problems arise in a pluralistic society, where various beliefs and religions coexist, presenting their own challenges for relations between religious communities. Interfaith dialogue is one of the key elements in building understanding, tolerance, and harmony among diverse communities. This study aims to examine how the Qur'anic approach directs its people to interact with diverse communities harmoniously, and to answer the various challenges that arise in a modern pluralistic society.
Henri ShalahudinArmiya Armiya

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1697

Early childhood education (ECE) is increasingly recognized as a foundation for building inclusive and sustainable societies. Global frameworks, such as UNESCO’s vision of education for global citizenship and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4.7), emphasize the need for learning that fosters empathy, tolerance, and social responsibility. Yet in practice, many faith-based early childhood institutions remain exclusive to a single tradition, offering little space for interfaith encounters. At the same time, young children grow up immersed in digital environments where algorithm-driven content often amplifies intolerance, apathy, and disconnection from social and ecological realities. This paper, utilizing qualitative conceptual synthesis and document analysis, proposes the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC), a conceptual framework structured around five integrated core values, for integrating interfaith values into early childhood education. By rooting early learning in shared ethical and spiritual principles across religious traditions, this approach aims to nurture empathy, care, and ecological awareness while countering risks of intolerance in the digital era. This contribution highlights the potential of culturally grounded yet globally relevant pedagogy to prepare young children for an increasingly complex and diverse world.
Yuyun Libriyanti

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1801

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) should play a role in preventing cases of intolerance by instilling an attitude of tolerance. However, this role is sometimes tarnished by the behavior of some PAI teachers who exhibit intolerant attitudes. Based on a recent survey from the Center for the Study of Islam and Society (PPIM) UIN Jakarta, the majority of Muslim teachers in Indonesia tend to hold quite high intolerant and radical opinions. Teachers play a primary role in learning and have a significant influence on the learning process and design. Therefore, it is important for teachers to be tolerant figures and implement PAI that encourages the growth of an attitude of tolerance. The purpose of this research focuses on discussing the concept of tolerance according to Rainer Forst and how this theory can be implemented in PAI, both in the context of the teacher's role, materials, and learning models. The method used is a qualitative research with the Study Literature Research model. The findings: first, teachers have a role in fostering an attitude of active tolerance. Second, the learning materials are inspired by the concept of peace in Islam, which highly upholds a sense of tolerance (Islam rahmatan lil'alamin). Third, a relevant learning model for developing students' active tolerance is Problem-Based Learning. Tolerant Islamic Religious Education can be the answer to the problem of tolerance through an inclusive and tolerant religious education pathway.
Zuhari Harsyah

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1802

Indonesia is a country where nearly the entire population adheres to a particular religion, making religiosity a central aspect of daily life. Religiosity is a multidimensional construct that plays a crucial role in adolescent development, particularly in contexts where religious beliefs and practices are deeply embedded in cultural identity. Despite its significance, measurement tools for religiosity in Indonesia remain limited, especially those designed to capture the construct across diverse religious backgrounds. This study aimed to develop and validate a multidimensional religiosity scale for Indonesian adolescents. A total of 209 adolescents from various regions in Indonesia participated in the study. Psychometric evaluation involved Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and reliability testing conducted using Jamovi. While the EFA initially suggested a four-factor structure, CFA confirmed a five-factor model consistent with Pearce, Hayward, and Pearlman’s (2017) theoretical framework. The five dimensions included religious belief, religious exclusivity, personal practice, external practice, and religious salience. The revised multidimensional model demonstrated satisfactory fit indices (CFI = 0.932; TLI = 0.919; RMSEA = 0.061; SRMR = 0.053). Reliability analysis further indicated strong internal consistency, with both Cronbach’s &alpha and McDonald’s &omega exceeding the recommended threshold of 0.70. These findings demonstrate that the developed scale is both valid and reliable for assessing adolescent religiosity in Indonesia. The study contributes theoretically by expanding cross-cultural research on religiosity and highlighting its multidimensional nature beyond Western contexts. Practically, it provides a robust tool for researchers, educators, and practitioners to assess the role of religiosity in adolescent development, including its implications for resilience, psychological well-being, and social engagement.
Diah Nova AnggrainiNugraheni Iswara AdiGabriella Annira KristyHari MaryantoMunawaratul Fi’liyahWahyu Widhiarso

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1803

Lifestyle helps describe a person's attitudes, values, and representation of wealth. Indonesian consumer society appears to have grown alongside the history of modernization in the economic sector, with the transformation of consumption-based capitalism marked by the rise of modern shopping centers, the fashion industry, the beauty industry, the culinary world, luxurious product advertisements, and the expanding technological shopping culture. This study aims to examine the relationship between a hedonistic lifestyle and consumptive behavior among students in 2025. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The total sample consisted of 50 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using the chi-square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that most students had a high hedonistic lifestyle (26 people or 52%) and high consumptive behavior (40 people or 80%). The Chi-Square test produced a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between hedonistic lifestyle and consumptive behavior among students. It is necessary to strengthen a sustainable mindset to balance pleasure and financial responsibility, which will positively impact financial management, emotional stability, and long-term lifestyle patterns.
Pomarida SimbolonNagoklan Simbolon

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1804

Surah As-Saffat verses 139–148 generally tells the story of the Prophet Yunus As, who once left his people in a state of anger because of their disobedience without Allah SWT's permission, then he was swallowed by a big fish. In the belly of the fish, Prophet Yunus realized his mistake and immediately repented sincerely through prayer and prayer beads. Because of his sincerity, Allah SWT saved him and took him out of the fish's stomach. After recovering, he was sent again to his people, who then all believed, so that they were given life for a certain time. This story illustrates God's love for His servants who repent and is a lesson about patience and the importance of following His commands. This research specifically aims to analyze how spiritual therapy is presented in Surah As-Safaat verses 139–148, using Imam Al-Alusi's Ruh al-Ma'ani as the interpretive foundation and the theory of tazkiyyah al nafs from Ibnu Qayyim Al Jauziyyah as the analytical tool. The main research objective is to identify and formulate the core components of spiritual therapy found in the narrative of Prophet Yunus AS that are applicable to contemporary spiritual challenges. The research method is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach. The result of the study show that the values of spiritual therapy in Surah As-Saffat 139-148 include self-awareness, dhikr, repentance, and strengthening the transcendental relationship with God, all of which align with the highest dimension of spiritual intelligence. The integration of classical interpretation and modern psychotherapy theory demonstrates the relevance of the Qur'an as a foundation for addressing contemporary spiritual crises.
Fandi ErdiansahMuhammad Arsyad Slamat

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1614

Sleep deprivation and stress are pervasive issues in modern society, with far-reaching consequences for physical and mental health. Recent studies have elucidated the complex interplay between sleep, stress, and genomic regulation, revealing novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these relationships. This review highlights the genomic consequences of sleep deprivation and stress, with a focus on the impact on gene expression, epigenetic regulation, and genomic stability. This is a narrative literature review. Articles were selected from PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. Sleep deprivation has been shown to alter the expression of genes involved in critical cellular processes, including metabolism, immune function, and neuronal signaling. Furthermore, chronic stress can lead to epigenetic changes, such as DNA methylation and histone modification, which can influence gene expression and contribute to disease susceptibility. The genomic consequences of sleep deprivation and stress have significant implications for human health, including increased risk of metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease, and mood disorders. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying these relationships can inform the development of novel therapeutic strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of sleep loss and stress. In conclusion, sleep deprivation and stress may have genomic consequences, such as changes in DNA methylation and gene expression, which contribute to disease susceptibility.

Yuliana Yuliana

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1758

In neuroscience, mirror neurons constitute a specific neural system in the human brain that significantly influences Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence in interpersonal relationships. This concept aligns closely with the modeling framework in Albert Bandura's social learning theory. Consequently, this research seeks to advance mirror neuron theory in relation to children's moral character development, specifically through the uswatun hasanah (exemplary modeling) methodology. This study constitutes library research employing a qualitative approach, with data analysis conducted using descriptive-analytical methods. Research findings reveal that mirror neuron mechanisms strongly underpin the uswatun hasanah approach to moral character formation in children. This is evidenced through mirror neurons' inherent capacity for imitative learning. Through the mirror neuron system, individuals can replicate others' actions and emotions vicariously. Continuous implementation of uswatun hasanah with positive reinforcement strengthens neural circuit connections, including mirror neurons, thereby consolidating memories into enduring internalized values. Aligned with its theoretical foundation, exemplary modeling remains the most efficacious method for cultivating children's moral, spiritual, and social development. Thus, the uswatun hasanah method effectively guides children toward consistently virtuous behavior and noble character.
Anida MagfirahAhmad Ahmad

This study investigates the function of the 'Ke-Jogja-an' philosophy as a spiritual approach within tourism services, and its implications for the theory of tourist experience. Employing a phenomenological approach, the research focuses on Segajih Tourism Village as the primary context, where tourism services are designed on the basis of spirituality, harmony with nature, and interpersonal connectivity. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with community members and tourists, supplemented by participant observation of tourism activities in situ. The results indicate that the values implemented within the 'Ke-Jogja-an' philosophy generate meaningful tourist experiences that transcend the conventional hedonic and utilitarian dimensions typically found in tourism. Tourists not only derive pleasure or functional benefits but also experience spiritual enrichment, cultural reflection, and a profound sense of community. These findings suggest that local philosophies play a crucial role in shaping more holistic and transformative tourism experiences. Furthermore, this research contributes to the development of tourism experience theory by introducing a spiritual dimension rooted in local cultural values. In practical terms, the results provide insights for developing more humanistic and experience-based tourism models, emphasizing the importance of integrating local philosophical frameworks into the design and management of tourism services. This approach has the potential to strengthen socio-cultural sustainability while simultaneously enhancing the overall quality of tourist experiences.
Eka Nur Wahyu SetyoriniPutu Sudira

This research focuses on analyzing the urgency of students' and alumni's loyalty to their teachers as an important foundation for achieving blessings, success, and true happiness from Imam Al-Ghazali's perspective. The research aims to identify and describe the philosophical and ethical foundations in Al-Ghazali's view that establishes complete obedience and faith in the teachers as an absolute obligation for the salvation of this world and the hereafter. This research uses a qualitative method with a qualitative approach. library research(literature study). Data were obtained from primary sources of Al-Ghazali's thought and analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results of the study indicate that loyalty to the Masyayikh is a non-negotiable obligation, manifested in obedience and compliance with every instruction. The Masyayikh acts as a spiritual guide who shows the path to salvation. This obedience is the foundation for obtaining the blessings of knowledge and leading students to success and true happiness in this world and the hereafter. Specifically, in Imam al-Ghazali's view, even though the Masyayikh's guidance sometimes seems inappropriate, it is still better and more beneficial than taking steps based on the student's personal views, because the teacher's guidance is based on more mature spiritual experience.
Maulana Muhamad HakimAchmad Roysul Rohim

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1808

This study discusses Nidhal Guessoum's criticism of the I'jaz 'Ilmi approach as a model for integrating Islam and modern science. According to Guessoum, the I'jaz approach is methodologically problematic because it forces a fit between verses of the Qur'an and temporary scientific findings, and stems from a lack of religious and scientific literacy. Supporters of I'jaz often interpret mutasyabihat verses as muhkam verses, resulting in a single claim that precludes multiple interpretations. Guessoum emphasizes that modern science is empirical, falsifiable, and constantly evolving; therefore, it is inappropriate to treat the Qur'an as an encyclopedia of science. As an alternative, Guessoum offers an integration model through the Softly Overlapping Magisteria (SOMA) approach, which sees a flexible connection between the realms of religion and science without negating each other. This model requires a deep understanding of scientific methods, the philosophy of science, and the rules of Qur'anic interpretation. At the same time, he proposes a multilevel reading method for cosmic verses, which allows for a variety of interpretations according to the level of reasoning, scientific development, and scientific authority of the interpreter. Guessoum criticized five major errors in I'jaz, ranging from the inability to distinguish between facts and scientific theories to the tendency to give narrow meanings to the texts of the Qur'an. According to him, healthy integration must be built through a contextual understanding of the Qur'an, the strengthening of a science curriculum based on the philosophy of science, and intensive dialogue between scientists, scholars, and educators. The ultimate goal is to build a harmonious relationship between modern science and Islam, which preserves the sanctity of revelation while supporting the development of knowledge that is beneficial to the people.
Erni Puryati Ningsih

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1809

Sandra Harding’s standpoint epistemology has emerged as a significant critique of modern scientific claims to neutrality and objectivity. However, this framework also raises fundamental philosophical concerns, particularly regarding truth relativism and the fragmentation of epistemic authority. The urgency of this research lies in offering an alternative epistemological framework that not only exposes the inherent biases of Western science but also provides an integral and transcendent foundation for knowledge. Islamic epistemology, grounded in the principle of tawhid (divine unity), offers a holistic conceptual framework that harmonizes rational, empirical, and revelatory dimensions as sources of truth. Nevertheless, studies that directly critique standpoint epistemology from an Islamic perspective remain rare. This research aims to examine Sandra Harding’s standpoint epistemology critically and to formulate a tawhid-based Islamic epistemology as a conceptual alternative to relativistic epistemic frameworks. Employing a qualitative method based on library research and a descriptive-analytical approach, this study further strengthens its conceptual foundation through in-depth interviews with two experts in philosophy of science and Islamic philosophy. The findings suggest that while standpoint theory effectively exposes power relations in knowledge production, it lacks the metaphysical grounding necessary to sustain a coherent concept of truth. In contrast, al-Attas’s tawhid-based epistemology provides a spiritually rooted and ontologically unified framework. This study contributes to contemporary Islamic epistemological discourse by proposing an ethically oriented and theologically grounded model of knowledge that integrates lived experience with divine revelation, offering a richer, more coherent, and genuinely objective understanding of reality.
Nadaa Afifah SilmiSyamsuddin Arif

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1810

Queer brings new orders of identity, especially sex and gender, into a space of uncertainty where everyone can play without being trapped in one identity. This theory became one of the theories as the basis for the affirmation of the LGBTQ movement. Since identity is not a fixed thing, its mean can be determined by performative actions. This view had a significant impact on the development of queer theory and has opened up new ways to think about the relationship between language, identity and power. The main strategy is deconstruct the heteronormative norms. This research attempts to examine collective sources with an analytical-descriptive method. For performative theory, the categorisation that society has understood; there are only two sexes does not represent a variety of sexual expressions. So that society calls sexual orientation is only what is naturally known can be deconstructed so that there is no longer a stereotype says orientations that are different from what has been established are deviant sexual orientations. Thus, truth becomes a freedom that can only be subjectively judged by the individual himself, especially causing a chaos of norms and values. Therefore, an Islamic perspective is needed to bind the will to one's nature
Jarman ArroisiIradah Dwi PutrianiSiti Us Bandiyah

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1812

This paper explores the limits of translation through the philosophical perspective of Teyfur Erdogdu, whose reflections on esanlamligin imkansizligi (the impossibility of synonymy), yonlendirilemezlik (untranslatability), and kavramsal dakiklik (conceptual precision) present a profound challenge to modern epistemology. Erdogdu argues that every concept is embedded within its own linguistic, cultural, and metaphysical context, making absolute translation, both linguistic and conceptual, impossible. This study reconsiders his position through a faith-based epistemological lens, particularly within the framework of Islamic thought, where knowledge (ilm) is understood as both divinely revealed and humanly constructed. The paper contends that the limits of translation are not merely linguistic barriers but epistemic boundaries that reveal the diversity of human understanding shaped by revelation, reason, and culture. By examining the semantic shifts between kimlik (identity) and huviyet within Turkish intellectual history, the discussion highlights how translation across languages and worldviews can lead to subtle distortions of meaning. Comparing this with the Indonesian academic and religious context, the study underscores how faith-based values can restore conceptual integrity and humility in cross-cultural scholarship. Consequently, this paper argues that recognizing the limits of translation is essential for building a more reflective and ethically grounded social science. Rather than striving for perfect equivalence, scholars should embrace interpretive awareness that respects the spiritual and cultural origins of meaning, an approach that enriches dialogue between faith, knowledge, and the human sciences.
Titis ThoriquttyasNurul Ahsin

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1748

The development of the media industry has led to a shift in values when sacred cultural symbols are represented in the context of entertainment oriented towards commodification. This study aims to analyze how the media profanes sacred cultural symbols, how the public responds, and how the power relations between the media and the community shape the process of producing and negotiating meaning. The research uses a Critical Discourse Analysis approach with Fairclough's three-dimensional framework, which includes text analysis, discursive practices, and social practices, and is enriched by Stuart Hall's theory of representation, Stig Hjarvard's theory of medialization, and Émile Durkheim's concept of profanation. Data was obtained through documentation of television broadcasts, online news reports, and public conversations on digital platforms, then analyzed through thematic coding, discourse mapping, and triangulation to ensure data credibility. Findings show that the media produces profanity through commodification, which shifts the function of symbols from markers of cultural value to elements of entertainment that support ratings. Visual and narrative packaging positions symbols as dramatic objects that are modified according to entertainment aesthetics without considering their inherent sacred dimensions. Public responses show polarization between groups that consider such representations to be demeaning to sacred symbols and groups that accept the transformation of symbols as part of media creativity. This polarization confirms that profanity is not only related to religious issues, but is a cultural conflict that arises from the meeting between the logic of the media industry and the sensitivities of the community. Efforts to strengthen media literacy are important to help the public understand representation practices critically, accompanied by the need for dialogue between the media and cultural communities so that the meaning of symbols is not diluted in the digital communication space.
Khoirul Umam AddzakyFakhrurrozi FakhrurroziUswatun HasanahIda Faridatul Hasanah

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1813

This study aims to analyze the challenges of Islamic education in Indonesia in the face of global capitalism and to find solutions to restore Islamic education to its ideal purpose: to develop a generation that is intelligent, faithful, and virtuous. The research method used is a qualitative approach based on library research, which relies on secondary data sources such as books, journal articles, and related documents. The results show that capitalism in the world of education has created a gap in access, commercialization, and a shift in the orientation of Islamic education from human liberation to purely economic interests. Islamic education is often marginalized in the national education system, both in terms of policy, budget allocation, and government attention. To address these challenges, the integration of religious and general knowledge is needed through curriculum reform based on Islamic values, improved management of educational institutions, and strengthened regulations that ensure inclusive and equitable education. These reforms are expected to create an Islamic education system that is responsive to the needs of modern society without losing its spiritual values.
Ais SaputraSaddam HusinSyafiul KiramErik JunaidiMuhammad Zaenul Lael Muhammad Safiul AminMuhammad AlfianInggil Laksana

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1814

The advancement of modern science has given rise to the paradigm of positivism, which asserts that valid knowledge can only be obtained through observation and empirical verification. This paradigm radically rejects the existence of metaphysical entities, including God, as they are deemed unprovable through scientific means. This idea was first systematically formulated by Auguste Comte and has significantly influenced modern society’s perception of religion and spirituality. Within the positivist framework, God is excluded from the realm of scientific inquiry because He cannot be directly observed, and thus is considered irrational and irrelevant in scientific discourse. This study aims to critically examine the positivist rejection of metaphysical realities by presenting rational arguments in support of the existence of God from the perspective of Islamic philosophy. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach using library research methods, analyzing both classical and contemporary sources in the fields of theology and philosophy. The findings indicate that the existence of God can be logically explained through several philosophical arguments within the Islamic tradition. These include the Causal Argument, which emphasizes the necessity of a First Cause (Al-'Illah al-Ula) as well as the Cosmological and Teleological Arguments, which posit that the order and complexity of the universe point to the presence of an intelligent designer. Furthermore, Leibniz’s Principle of Sufficient Reason affirms that everything that exists must have a sufficient explanation, with the most rational explanation for the existence of the universe being the presence of an absolute and independent God.
Amal Fathullah ZarkasyiM. https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1602

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed various sectors of human life, including education. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, are now challenged to integrate Islamic spiritual values with the spirit of nationalism in the midst of digital transformation. This study aims to analyse the objectives, concepts, and implementation strategies of integrating Islamic and national values in the reorientation of pesantren education during the digital era. Conceptually, the research is based on the principles of wasathiyah (moderation), holistic education, and digital literacy within the framework of national identity. The method used is qualitative-descriptive through a literature study of relevant books, journal articles, and reports on digital education, Islamic pedagogy, and nationalism in pesantren. The results show that pesantren have begun adapting digital tools for learning, management, and da’wah, yet face challenges related to the preservation of traditional values, teacher competence, and digital ethics. The integration of Islamic spirituality and nationalism can be achieved through curriculum reform emphasizing moral education, digital literacy, and national awareness rooted in Islamic teachings. Moreover, teachers and kiai play a strategic role as digital mentors who exemplify religious moderation and patriotism. Thus, the reorientation of pesantren education in the digital age should not only focus on technological adaptation but also on the strengthening of identity and values. Such integration will enable pesantren to produce “santri” who are digitally literate, spiritually strong, and nationally committed.
Moh In'amiDjamaluddin Perawironegoro

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1816

This study explores the renewal of religious thought (tajdid al-fikr al-dini) in Islam through a comparative analysis
of the ideas of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Fazlur Rahman. Both scholars are prominent figures in modern Islamic reform, yet they
represent distinct epistemological orientations. Fazlur Rahman approaches renewal through a neo-modernist and
hermeneutical lens, emphasising historical contextualisation and rational reinterpretation of revelation, while Yusuf al
Qaradawi advances a practical reform based on maqasid al-shariah and fiqh al-waqi'to address contemporary socio-religious
issues. Employing a qualitative, library-based method with philosophical and comparative approaches, this research examines
the conceptual foundations, methodologies, and civilizational implications of their thought. The findings reveal that Rahman’s
framework stresses theoretical reconstruction of Islamic epistemology, whereas Qaradawi’s focuses on applied jurisprudential
moderation wasatiyyah. The synthesis of both approaches offers a balanced paradigm for developing a dynamic, rational, and
ethically grounded Islamic civilization in the modern era.
Imroatul IstiqomahAwab Darusman

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1677

The Qur’an presents the stories of the Prophets as an educational medium rich in moral, spiritual, and social values. Among these narratives, the stories of the Ulul Azmi Prophets—Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad (peace be upon them)—serve as exemplars of resilience that are not only spiritual and moral but also aligned with the concept of resilience in modern psychology. This article employs a library research method to systematically analyze the prophetic narratives, focusing on the resilience embedded in the life journeys of the Ulul Azmi Prophets. These narratives are compared with contemporary theories of resilience while integrating prophetic values with scientific literacy as a foundation for 21st-century education. The findings indicate that the stories of the Ulul Azmi Prophets provide more than moral lessons (ibrah); they offer a comprehensive model of resilience encompassing spiritual, moral, emotional, and transformative dimensions. Spiritual resilience is reflected in steadfast faith and obedience to Allah, moral resilience in the application of ethical principles, emotional resilience in coping with trials and adversities, and transformative resilience in the ability to create meaningful change within society. Furthermore, scientific literacy can be enriched through prophetic values, ensuring that education fosters not only rational intelligence but also ethical awareness and wisdom. This article also presents a comparative table between Ulul Azmi resilience and resilience psychology theories, alongside a model integrating prophetic values with scientific literacy. The findings offer a theoretical framework for prophetic-resilient education, balancing cognitive, moral, and spiritual dimensions while providing a holistic approach to developing competent, ethical, and socially responsible learners in contemporary society. By bridging insights from Islamic narratives, modern psychology, and educational theory, this study contributes to the discourse on resilience-based pedagogy and the development of 21st-century human capital grounded in ethical and spiritual awareness.
Dian Febrianingsih

2026-06-102026-06-105517531Islamic Philanthropy for Empowering the Community's Economy in the Era of Digital Transformation
https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1590

Islamic philanthropy is a practice of generosity based on Islamic teachings with the aim of achieving the welfare of the ummah. The concept of philanthropy in Islam derives from the Qur’an and Hadith, which emphasize social responsibility and economic justice. Islamic philanthropy has unique characteristics that distinguish it from philanthropic traditions in other cultures, particularly its strong connection to worship and spirituality. In Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, the potential for Islamic philanthropy is enormous but has not been optimally managed. The gap between potential and realization indicates the need for innovation in the management of Islamic philanthropy to make it more effective in empowering the community’s economy. This study focuses on the impact of the digitalization of Islamic philanthropy on economic empowerment of the Muslim community, including changes in mechanisms of fundraising and distribution, the effectiveness of digital-based empowerment programs, and the real impacts experienced by beneficiaries (mustahik) in improving their economic well-being. The study also examines the challenges and opportunities in the development of digital Islamic philanthropy, including structural and technical barriers faced, as well as potentials that can be optimized for future development. Theoretically, this study is expected to enrich the discourse on Islamic philanthropy within the context of digital transformation and its contribution to economic empowerment, as well as enhance the development of contemporary Islamic economic theory that is responsive to technological advances. This research employs a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach to explore in-depth understanding of the digitalization phenomenon of Islamic philanthropy and its implications for economic empowerment. The descriptive method is used to systematically and comprehensively describe the phenomenon of digital Islamic philanthropy in Indonesia—including the development of digital platforms, mechanisms of fundraising and distribution, and the empowerment programs conducted. Meanwhile, the analytical approach is used to examine the causal relationship between the digitalization of Islamic philanthropy and changes in the effectiveness of economic empowerment, identify factors influencing program success or failure, and evaluate challenges and opportunities in its digital development. The study concludes that digitalization has brought significant and multidimensional transformation. Digitalization has dramatically increased Islamic philanthropy fundraising—from only 28% conducted through digital channels in 2018 to 63% in 2023—indicating a clear shift in public preference. This increase occurred not only in percentage but also in absolute value, rising from IDR 3.2 trillion to IDR 14.3 trillion. Broader accessibility through digital platforms has expanded the donor base, including reaching Indonesian diaspora abroad who contribute 18% of total digital donations. Donation frequency has also risen significantly, with digital donors giving an average of 4.7 times per year compared to only 1.3 times for offline donors. Digitalization has improved the quality of empowerment programs through data-driven decision-making, real-time monitoring, program personalization, and peer-to-peer learning through digital platforms. Digital-based empowerment programs have proven to be far more effective, resulting in significantly higher levels of economic independence.
Ayu Puspita Sari

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1817

outh Jember is known as an area rich in religious diversity, where Islamic boarding schools, religious schools, and
local religious practices interact with each other in a dynamic social landscape. On the one hand, pesantren function as a center
for traditional Islamic education and da'wah, while on the other hand, local beliefs persist as expressions of spirituality that
are firmly rooted in the culture of the community. This struggle is even more complex when global modernity through the
media, migration flows, and economic transformation presents new values that affect the construction of the religious identity
of local communities. However, previous research has tended to focus more on the dominance of pesantren as formal religious
institutions, while the dynamics of faith streams and their encounter with global modernity are still rarely explored. This
research gap is what opens up space for more comprehensive studies. The novelty of this research is the analysis of the
interaction between religious entities of Islamic boarding schools, religious streams, and global modernity in shaping the
religious identity of the people of South Jember. The formulation of this research problem is first: How is the interaction of
pesantren and religious schools in shaping the religious identity of the people of South Jember? Second, how does global
modernity affect the struggle of local traditions and religions in the region? The research method used is a qualitative approach
with ethnographic studies, involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and discourse analysis of local religious
practices. Provisional results show that pesantren play a hegemonic role in defining orthodoxy, while faith streams find
adaptive ways to survive through symbols, rituals, and cultural narratives.
Moh Syahrul MuzammilSiti Nur HalizaM Khoirul Hadi Al Asy Ari

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1818

This article aims to explore and re-narrate the history of Nahdhatoen Nisaijah as a key actor in the development of women’s education in West Sumatra. The struggle of women in pursuing education and economic independence did not only emerge in urban centers but also in rural areas. Within the historiography of Islamic education, there remains a significant gap regarding the role of Nahdhatoen Nisaijah, which has not received sufficient academic attention. The primary focus of this study is to examine the institutional transformation, the intellectual contributions of its prominent figures, and the concrete impacts of this institution on enhancing women’s capacities and promoting community welfare from 1922 to 2022. This research employs a qualitative descriptive design with a historical approach. The main sources consist of oral testimonies from historical actors, particularly teachers and students of Nahdhatoen Nisaijah, complemented by documents such as diaries, books, and scholarly articles. The findings indicate that the establishment of Nahdhatoen Nisaijah was driven by the urgent need of women for proper education to fulfill their individual and communal roles. Over time, Nahdhatoen Nisaijah transformed from a modest female pesantren (Islamic boarding school) into a center of education, empowerment, and socio-political struggle. The intellectual vision of its leaders reflected a progressive courage to transcend colonial patriarchy, affirming education as a medium of women’s emancipation. Its concrete contributions are evident not only in producing knowledgeable and empowered Muslim women but also in strengthening community welfare across educational, economic, social, political, and spiritual domains.
Azhariah FatiaAzhariah KhalidaGhiffari FauzanSania Aniqa

https://sunankalijaga.org/prosiding/index.php/icrse/article/view/1819

The representation of women in academic leadership positions in Islamic universities is still limited despite its strategic role. This study explores the meaning of women's leadership in the context of Islamic collectivist culture and the mechanisms of social legitimacy construction that they construct. This study uses a qualitative method with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. . Three informants were selected based on the criteria of more than or equal to 1 year of office experience; Data were collected through in-depth interviews (60–90 minutes), field observations, and activity documentation. The analysis was carried out using the IPA step and assisted by NVivo 15 for the visualization of the theme. Data validity is strengthened through member checking, peer debriefing, and data triangulation. The results of the analysis identified four main themes: (1) leadership as a moral-spiritual mandate; (2) leadership as social negotiation in a collectivist culture; (3) leadership as a space for self-actualization (intellectual, social, spiritual); and (4) the construction of social legitimacy formed through the integration of three pillars: professional competence, moral integrity, and relational wisdom. The legitimacy of women leaders in Islamic higher education is multidimensional and built gradually formal credentials open early access, moral exemplars strengthen social acceptance, and relational wisdom nurtures long-term legitimacy. Universities need to develop career development policies that combine improving academic competence and relational/spiritual capacity and creating an organizational culture that values exemplarity.
Syaiful KiramErik JunaidiSaddam HusinAis SaputraMuhammad Safiul AminMuhammad Zaenul LaelNur KholisNadya FitriAbdi HazmanNova Zulfani Panggabean
