Abstract

This research is motivated by educational conditions that have not been able to produce superior individuals with noble character and high levels of humanity. This is proven by the rise in cases of bullying in the world of education. To overcome this problem, strategies are needed to improve students' character. Starting from learning that is not only focusedon the material, through habituation and example to instill character values in students. One strategy that can be used to overcome this problem is to implement a religious culture in schools. The aim of this research is to describe the strategy for developing religious culture at SMK Negeri 1 Wanareja and the factors inhibiting the strategy for developing religious culture among students at SMK Negeri 1 Wanareja. This type of research is field research using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use three methods, namely observation, interviews and documentation.The data analysis technique goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research show that 1) The strategy for developing religious culture at SMK Negeri 1 Wanareja is developing teaching tools, power strategy, persuasive strategy, providing motivation, holding programs, involving educational organizations, providing rewards and punishments, and using the media. 2) The inhibiting factors are the unpreparedness of students and teachers, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, andlimited time.
